Holly Sanborn, Camp Dreamcatcher Board Director, was introduced to Patty Hillkirk 15 years ago at a community event and after a few minutes discussing Camp Dreamcatcher, she knew she was destined to be part of this organization. The following summer she took a week’s vacation from her position as Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at a local hospital to be a counselor for the 5-6 year old campers. Each year thereafter, Holly has volunteered during camp week and progressed to senior counselor and then Village Chief working with the teen program. She became a member of the Board of Directors in 2004 and accepted the position of Secretary of the Board in which she held until 2014. She continues to volunteer during camp week and last year was the Village Chief for the Leaders-In-Training program.
Holly’s full time responsibility is as a Physical Therapist with 24 years of experience in both staff and management positions in acute care hospitals, outpatient clinics, acute rehab facilities, and skilled nursing facilities. She is currently employed by Mercy Health System, working in their home health division, treating homebound adult and geriatric patients. Her background includes working closely with senior administrators and medical directors in developing policies and procedures, new program development, and participating in quality improvement and ethics committees. In addition, Holly has extensive teaching experience as clinical instructor for Physical Therapy students, Basic Cardiac Life Support, and developing and implementing programs for back safety and ergonomics, patient transfer training, energy conservation, adaptive equipment training, strength training, and fitness conditioning classes for hospital staff, community, and local police and fire departments.
Holly is married and has 3 teen-age daughters. Her husband is also active with Camp Dreamcatcher, volunteering as a counselor and Village Chief for the past 10 years.
