Non-Profits Provide Relief: Camp Dreamcatcher

The Chester County Community Foundation shone a spotlight on Camp Dreamcatcher to highlight the Camp’s upcoming Virtual Camp Weeks and its program to distribute computers to campers who do not have access to them so they can participate in this year’s camp.

“Camp Dreamcatcher in Kennett Square PA offers programs all year for children affected by HIV/AIDS. This year’s August 10th– 21st virtual summer camp sessions will offer a safe space for children and teens to talk about racism, police brutality, and the trauma that follows. 98 % of the campers at Camp Dreamcatcher are BIPOC (black, Indigenous, and people of color), and Camp Dreamcatcher has covered these topics for the past 24 years. This year, Camp Dreamcatcher has increased the number of BIPOC volunteers and incorporated empowering children’s books written by BIPOC.”
