MENTORING

The Mentoring Program was launched in 2013 and includes a formal mentoring training for current counselors who are matched with a selected group of teens and young adult “campers” ages 16 and up.

This program has clear boundaries and expectations for the mentors and mentee relationship and will formalize services that have been provided by counselors on an informal basis for many years. The program establishes a safe, consistent and supportive relationship between the mentor and mentee.

The program offers an experiential learning environment for young adults whose lives have been touched by HIV/AIDS and empowers this vulnerable population to understand their full potential as caring and compassionate citizens through the development of a mentor and mentee relationship.
