November 6, 2021
6:30 – 7:30 P.M.
What to Expect:
- Stories from Camp
- Keynote Speaker: Lakeisha Brown
About Our Speaker:
Lakeisha Brown was one of our first campers. She started attending Camp Dreamcatcher in 1996 as a camper, moved up to be a Counselor in Training, was our first Junior Counselor, and then served as a counselor at camp for several years. When asked about the impact that Camp Dreamcatcher had on her life, Lakeisha said “camp gave me back my childhood. It impacted me in two ways. First, I met children impacted by HIV/AIDS like me, and before that, I didn’t know anyone else sharing this experience. And second, I felt the loving embrace of the counselors at camp.” Lakeisha has gone on to become the 2019 DC Teacher of the Year and the 2020 Miss DC for America. She will share her story of resiliency and hope with us at the event.
The program will be held on Zoom on November 6. Visit https://catchdreams25.givesmart.com and click the Register Now button so we can be sure to get you an invitation, or send an email to Patty Hillkirk at firstname.lastname@example.org requesting a Zoom invitation.
