COLLEGE INTERNSHIPS
Camp Dreamcatcher is a great place to be an intern! Students from West Chester University, Pennsylvania State University, University of Delaware, University of Maryland, Immaculata University, University of Pennsylvania and Bryn Mawr College have completed their internships at Camp Dreamcatcher. We have also collaborated with students and faculty from La Salle University, Drexel College of Medicine and Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in conducting research on HIV medication compliance, the impact of stigma and secrecy on HIV/AIDS impacted youth and the implementation of mindfulness-based therapeutic practices to aid in relaxation and the reduction of stress.

I not only learned more about the field of Social Work and Psychology, but grew my social awareness, relationship skills, leadership skills, organizational skills, knowledge about fundraising and non-profit management, and self-awareness. I had the opportunity to observe many therapeutic groups during the camp week, help provide outreach and trainings, and help plan programming. I created helpful connections for my future career. I had the opportunity to become a part of a family and develop life-long friendships and life changing perspectives.”
